UC Davis Voluntary University Review on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
UC Davis is pursuing a Voluntary University Review (VUR) to support our university’s role as a public land-grant institution in advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda. The campus community is invited to share their SDG efforts through this online portal.
U21 Global Citizenship Leadership Development for Students
UC Davis students are invited to connect, learn, and discuss global issues in a cohort of 2,000 students from around the world. Students will develop skills needed to thrive in the 21st century while tackling some of the world’s most pressing problems outlined in the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Applications are currently being accepted from UC Davis students. Space is limited in this free online leadership development course. Deadline: March 15, 2021
China Scholarship Council – Ph.D. Fellowships
The China Scholarship Council (CSC) offers up to 20 Ph.D. fellowships annually to students from China attending UC Davis. The CSC covers the first two years of study for each participant (nonresident fees, plus stipends for living expenses), as well as visa application fees and round-trip transportation between China and Davis. Deadline: March 20, 2021
Universitas 21 (U21) Images of Hope Competition
UC Davis students and staff are invited to submit photographs, or images of a piece of creative artwork, that represent their own experience of positivity and endurance during the pandemic, using the following headings as a guide: Resilience, Community, Creativity and Solidarity. Deadline: March 29, 2021
2022-23 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Competition is OPEN!
The Fulbright U.S. Scholar program offers diverse opportunities for U.S. academics, administrators and professionals to teach, research, do professional projects and attend seminars abroad. To identify potential opportunities, search the 2022-23 Catalog of Awards. UC Davis is consistently ranked among the country’s top producers of Fulbright scholars. Join a webinar this month to learn more about Fulbright opportunities around the world. Deadline: September 15, 2021

Conference Grants for UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
UC Davis Global Affairs, the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), and the Sustainability office are pleased to announce a call for virtual conference grants to support UC Davis faculty, staff, and students in sharing UC Davis contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Deadline: December 10, 2021. Applications are considered on a rolling basis.

The forum series is co-hosted by Global Affairs, the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and the Sustainability office to facilitate the development of a UC Davis community who are deeply committed to advancing the SDGs.

2021 Universities Fighting World Hunger Summit: One Health. One Planet.
March 25-26, 2021 The year 2021 will be about resilience and resurgence, both planetary and human, and this conference will provide attendees with tools, information, and knowledge to collectively forge ahead as solutionists. The UC Davis World Food Center will co-host the virtual student summit alongside the University of California Global Food Initiative and the University of California Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources Nutrition Policy Institute in partnership with the Hunger Solutions Institute at Auburn University.
UC Global Health Day 2021: Decolonizing Global Health to Advance Health Equity

2021 Chancellor’s Awardees Honored for Global Engagement at UC Davis and Around the World
Chancellor Gary S. May presented the 2021 Chancellor’s Awards for International Engagement to Katharine Burnett, professor of art history and faculty director of the Global Tea Initiative for the Study of Tea Culture and Science in the College of Letters and Science, Jonna AK Mazet, professor of epidemiology and disease ecology and founding executive director of the One Health Institute in the School of Veterinary Medicine, and Scott Palmer, prestigious scholarship advisor in the Office of Undergraduate and Prestigious Scholarships within Financial Aid and Scholarships.
UC Davis Study Abroad Instructors Celebrated for Commitment to Students
Jay Grossi, continuing lecturer in Italian in the College of Letters and Science’s Department of French and Italian, and Ana Peluffo, professor of Spanish and chair in the College of Letters and Science’s Department of Spanish and Portuguese, were announced as the Academic Federation and Academic Senate honorees for the Excellence in Teaching in Study Abroad Awards.

Chancellor Gary S. May recognized Dr. Diana Farmer, chair of the UC Davis Department of Surgery and surgeon-in-chief of UC Davis Children’s Hospital, for earning a 2020 U21 Award for global leadership and contributions to internationalization in higher education.
Global Aggies: Researching Local Agriculture and Water Challenges for Global Solutions
After completing her undergraduate and graduate degrees at UC Davis' College of Engineering, Nisha Marwaha accepted a job at the nonprofit WorldFish, based in Malaysia, to help improve fisheries and aquaculture. Her water scarcity research and local partnerships help support the global UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Global Aggies: Venturing Across Cultural and Virtual Landscapes
Christal Juarez, a recent UC Davis Letters and Science grad in anthropology and international relations, shares the impact of her global learning experiences while at UC Davis and explains the importance of accessible global education for all students.
